The disposable camera app for weddings

The cameras on the tables were never about image quality. They were about giving every guest permission to shoot and no chance to overthink it. AllShots keeps exactly that — and skips the part where half the rolls never got developed.

Guests laughing and taking a photo at a wedding party
No preview, no retake: the photos people take when they cannot check them are the ones you keep.

What made disposables great

Three things. Every table had a camera, so nobody had to be asked. Each camera had 27 exposures, so people chose their moments. And nobody could see the result, so nobody posed twice. The photos were grainy and off-centre and, somehow, better than anything on a phone.

What killed them was everything after the party: collecting twenty cameras, paying to develop them, discovering that six were blank and four were of the ceiling, and scanning the rest to share them.

What a disposable camera app keeps

What it fixes

Setting it up

  1. Create the event on host.allshots.app and choose Disposable as the capture mode.
  2. Set shots per guest. 24 is a good default for a wedding; 12 keeps a big crowd focused; 48 for a small, long party.
  3. Choose a reveal timing if you want one. Instant shows photos live; next day hides everyone’s photos until the morning after, which is the closest thing to waiting for the prints.
  4. Print the QR code and put it where the disposables would have gone.

A note on quality

Phones are better cameras than any disposable ever was, so the results are sharper than the originals. What you keep is the behaviour — the fast, unposed, one-take photos — not the grain. If you want the film look, that is a filter you can add afterwards; the originals are yours at high quality (up to 1920 px on the long side).

Questions people ask

Can guests retake a photo in disposable mode?

No. That is the point: the shot goes straight to the album with no preview and no delete. You, as the host, can hide or delete anything afterwards.

How many shots should each guest get?

Most weddings use 24. Fewer (10–12) makes a large crowd more selective; more (48–72) suits a small group over a long evening. You can change it at any time.

Do the photos look like film?

No — they are ordinary, sharp phone photos. The disposable feel comes from the constraint, not from a filter. Add one afterwards if you like.

Can I mix disposable and open mode?

An event runs in one mode at a time, but you can switch it in settings — for example open mode before the ceremony, disposable during the party.
