25 photo ideas for your wedding guests

A prompt on the table turns "take some photos" into a game. These are the ones that produce photos you will actually frame — plus how to collect them without chasing anyone afterwards.

A couple laughing during their wedding reception
The photographer is at the head table. Your guests are everywhere else.

Moments the photographer misses

  1. The getting-ready room, from the inside. Only the people in it can take these.
  2. Your parents’ faces during the vows. The photographer is pointed at you.
  3. The kids’ table. Every single thing that happens there.
  4. The moment the food arrives. Universal, honest joy.
  5. Grandparents dancing. Non-negotiable.
  6. The first person to take their shoes off.
  7. The bar queue. Where the best conversations happen.
  8. Whoever is crying at any given moment.

Table prompts (print one per table)

  1. A photo of everyone at your table.
  2. The best-dressed person you can find.
  3. Someone mid-laugh.
  4. Your shoes, and the shoes next to you.
  5. A photo with someone you just met tonight.
  6. The couple, from wherever you are sitting right now.
  7. A drink raised to the camera.
  8. Something blue.

Disposable-mode challenges

If your event runs in disposable mode, guests have a fixed number of shots and no retakes. Give them a reason to spend them well:

  1. Use your last shot on the last dance.
  2. One photo per hour, on the hour.
  3. Find the couple and take one photo of each of them separately.
  4. A photo you would never post — this album is private.
  5. The view from the dance floor at 11 p.m.

For the morning after

  1. Breakfast with whoever is still around.
  2. The venue, empty.
  3. The car, the bags, the leftover cake.
  4. One photo of the album on your phone, full of everyone else’s photos.

Collecting them without the chase

Prompts only work if the photos end up somewhere. Put one QR code on each table with the prompts underneath; guests scan once and every photo they take goes to the shared album, live. No group chat, no "can you send me the ones from your table", no compressed WhatsApp copies. The next morning you download the lot as a ZIP.

Memory book and voice memories. On the Medium and Unlimited plans guests can also leave a written note or record a spoken message alongside their photos — a guest book that happens on the same page as the camera.

Questions people ask

How do I get the prompts to guests?

Print them on a card with the event’s QR code, one per table. Guests scan once and every photo they take goes straight to your album.

Should I use disposable mode for a prompt game?

It works well: a fixed number of shots makes guests pick their moments, and no-preview keeps the photos honest. 24 shots per guest is a good default.

Can guests leave a message with their photos?

On Medium and Unlimited events, yes — a written note in the memory book or a recorded voice memory, both from the same page as the camera.
